CAMDEN -- A four-alarm blaze gutted five rowhomes and injured one firefighter here today, officials said.
The fire started shortly before 2 p.m. in a vacant home at 935 Vine St. It took crews nearly an hour to extinguish the blaze, said Theresa Sicard-Archambeault, a spokeswoman with the Camden Police Department.
Sicard-Archambeault said police investigators are considering the fire "suspicious."
Camden Fire Marshal Ralph Roberts said the fire gutted five homes, three of which were vacant.
A firefighter injured his hand during the blaze. Roberts said he did not know the specifics of the injury but said it was minor. The firefighter was taken to an area hospital.
A woman living in one of the two occupied homes suffered minor smoke inhalation and declined medical treatment, Roberts said.
